Repair in rain
In spite of the heavy rainfall through the weekend, local mechanic Jacob Sanchez and his assistants, wife Lindsay Walker and his uncle Gilbert “Booger” Ramirez, battled mosquitoes and worked on his vehicle under a canopy to keep dry. The team continued through Saturday night and until predawn Sunday morning to finish the final steps to install a 347 Straker engine, turning the 1992 Ford Mustang GT into a top of the line, “very fast” race car. Sanchez took several months to complete to thousands of dollars in upgrades for the car owners who will present it to their son as a gift, he explained.
