A row of U.S. flags are set up near the tennis court of Ingleside on the Bay’s city park, each with a name of service members who served their country and now call IOB home, part of the first ever Veteran’s Day ceremony held in the peninsula community Friday, November 11.

Two lanterns stood on a nearby picnic table, both to memorialize local Ingleside on the Bay veterans who have passed, including U.S. Army Lt. Col. Richard Ehmann whose wife is IOB’s current Mayor, and Joe Watson who also served in the Army.
Father Patrick Higgins from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ingleside delivered an invocation at the ceremony. U.S. Marine Corps veteran Patrick McCracken (right) bowed his head during the prayer that was offered.
