(ABOVE): More than 600 residents call Ingleside on the Bay home. Few may realize, or appreciate, that it’s the volunteer effort of a few that often make things happen, like these members of the city’s Parks and Recreation Committee who planned last Friday’s Veterans Day ceremony (left to right) Nancy Johnson Lubbock, Cyndi Valdes, Kellen Chiddix, Jamie Tracy, Julie Nye, and Ann Nyberg.

A row of U.S. flags are set up near the tennis court of Ingleside on the Bay’s city park, each with a name of service members who served their country and now call IOB home, part of the first ever Veteran’s Day ceremony held in the peninsula community Friday, November 11.
