Ingleside on the Bay Councilman Brenda Duncan, 53, has been researching options to build or install a chicken coop behind her Inglewood Dr. home, hoping to offset rising food costs resulting from inflation, causing sticker shock for many with the cost of a dozen fresh eggs purchased at the market. She has proposed an ordinance amendment to an existing rule to permit homeowners to keep up to six chickens for the sole purpose of providing for the benefit of their families. A similar measure she brought up for consideration failed to garner support when it was introduced last August.
