Lady Mustangs lose by one to Robstown, beat Aransas Pass
The Ingleside High School varsity Lady Mustangs lost a heartbreaking game by one run to Robstown, but rebounded with a big win over Aransas Pass in district matchups last week.
The Lady Mustangs traveled to Robstown, Tuesday, April 3, and lost a close 5-4 battle to the Lady Cotton Pickers, although they outhit them, 7-5. Robstown scored first, putting three runs across the plate in the bottom of the first inning. Ingleside answered with a run each in the top of the second and third innings, to come within one, 3-2. Robstown scored in its half of the third to increase the lead to 4-2.
Each team scored a run in the fourth inning, as Robstown continued to hold the lead, 5-3. The Lady Mustangs scored once more, a run in the top of the sixth, to cut the lead to one. Neither team scored in the final inning. Robstown committed three errors in the game, and Ingleside committed two.
