Ingleside recipient of Shell generosity

The hull of Shell’s Appomattox production platform arrived in Ingleside in October after Hurricane Harvey hit, and company officials have been working with the City of Ingleside for the last few months to determine where they could help. As a result, the city has been the recipient of $79,500 in equipment contributions, and an additional $200,000 will go to a fund designated to help Ingleside residents.

Edwin Verdonk, vice president of venture development for Shell Deepwater, explained he is from a rural area in his country and they have a saying about neighbors. He said there is actually a verb in Dutch which means “neighboring,” and it’s not about living next to one another, its about taking care of each other in good times and in bad.
