A former Pennsylvania correctional officer has been sentenced to prison for drug transactions that resulted in a death after selling various narcotics in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
According to Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, 28-year-old Santino Bellucci of Dickson City was sentenced to 252 months for conspiracy to distribute and possess oxycodone and 40 grams or more of fentanyl, which resulted in death.
Between January 2022 and February 2023, Bellucci and others schemed to sell various drugs throughout Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties, according to authorities.
Authorities stated in December 2022 that Bellucci sold a person pills and a lethal amount of fentanyl, which led to the victim’s demise.
Bellucci was working as a correctional officer at a county institution when the crime occurred, according to detectives.
This case was investigated by both the FBI and the Dunmore Police Department.
