Fireworks calls down in 2019
On the Fourth of July holiday, the Ingleside Police Department responded to a total of 14 fireworks calls inside the city limits, a volume which is down from previous years, according to officers, said new Police Chief Tammy Burr.
That decrease had a lot to do with the new City ordinance as well as the media campaign advising local residents about the ordinance.
Officers also believe the fireworks shows put on for area residents by Kiewit Offshore Services, and the cities of Aransas Pass, Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, and Rockport, attributed to local and area residents not shooting off their own fireworks, particularly not in City limits.
