Perry County deputies say a burglary suspect they’ve been searching for since May is now in custody.

Gerald Weddle, 58, allegedly burglarized a residence near Rome.

After conducting a background check, deputies discovered that Weddle was on parole following his release from federal prison.

According to officials, he had already been charged in connection with other burglaries and thefts in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Deputies said Weddle was involved in a police chase with Missouri authorities on Tuesday and was apprehended shortly after.

Deputies believe he will shortly be extradited to Perry County to face more accusations.
