Pennsylvania Woman Heading To Federal Prison

A 40-year-old Duncansville, Pennsylvania, woman will spend the next two and a half years in federal prison after being sentenced last Tuesday for her role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking organization that distributed illegal narcotics throughout Blair, Cambria, Centre, and Clearfield Counties in the Western District of Pennsylvania.

According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Tonya Settlemyer, 40, of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie L. Haines to 30 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

According to the charging documents filed with the District Court, during a narcotics investigation into drug trafficking in the Western District of Pennsylvania, Settlemyer was intercepted on a federal wiretap, revealing that she was assisting Jason Lynn, the leader of an Altoona-based drug trafficking organization, who distributed large amounts of methamphetamine to multiple individuals throughout the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti praised the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and the Pennsylvania State Police for their investigative efforts that resulted in Settlemyer’s successful prosecution.

    How do these Judges expect to be shown any respect when Judges are permitted to decide such ludicrous, prejudicial decisions, especially against Honorably Discharged Veterans for text messaging about their employment rights?
