Mississippi Couple Apprehended For $162K Medicaid Fraud

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation has apprehended a Mississippi couple for defrauding Medicaid of more than $162,000.

Officials have charged Elina DeLeon, 35, and Vincent Delon, 51, of Carriere, Mississippi, each with one count of government benefit fraud.

According to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, they received a criminal referral from the Louisiana Department of Health regarding allegations that Vincent and Elina DeLeon, both Medicaid recipients, allegedly concealed their place of residence and other information to obtain Medicaid benefits.

During this investigation, it was determined that between March 2023 and June 2025, Vincent and Elina DeLeon provided fraudulent information by failing to record their marital status, household income, and place of residence correctly.
