The Metropolitan Police Department has made progress in solving a recent bank heist on Georgia Avenue, which culminated in the arrest of one suspect while another remains at large. Bobby Ransome, 46, of Northwest, DC, has been charged in connection with Thursday’s unarmed robbery at Truist Bank. The declaration followed extensive police efforts to identify those responsible for the mid-afternoon crime spree.

The Metropolitan Police Department said that two suspects were involved in the incident. Around 2:55 p.m., they entered the bank, located at the 6400 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest, when one handed over a note that persuaded a bank teller into handing over a large sum of cash. The suspects fled the scene without using any weapons, demonstrating that muscle is not necessarily required for malice. Following the original investigation, Ransome was captured; however, his accomplice remains at large.

A surveillance photograph of the second suspect apprehended in the act has been released to the public. Law enforcement advises anybody with critical information about this individual’s identity or whereabouts to avoid direct contact and instead call the police at (202) 727-9099 or send anonymous tips using the department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.
