Two men were apprehended and released more than two weeks after fleeing a fatal I-35 wreck in a small bus armed with an AK-style rifle.
The accident happened on July 17th near San Antonio, Texas, leaving five people dead and injuring 13. Four men in a Camaro fled the area, equipped with an AK-style rifle. Two men were taken into prison on Saturday, August 2nd.
According to KSAT 12, Eric Perez, 21, and Matthew Espinosa, 18, were caught on security camera in the Camaro two days before the fatal crash. They were the only two of four men observed fleeing the smashed automobile following the collision.
Both men are charged with vehicle burglary, a misdemeanor. Perez is also accused of the unlawful use of a motor vehicle, a crime, while Espinosa is charged with failing to identify himself.
Perez has been freed on a $12,500 bail, while Espinosa has been released on $5,000. There is no information available on the two other males suspected of fleeing the crash equipped with an AK-style rifle.
