A man was recently apprehended after a violent altercation at a construction site in Central Florida.
According to local law enforcement, the man who aimed a weapon at his former employer’s head and fired during a dispute over unpaid wages was apprehended after a multi-agency investigation.
Rajache Greenlee, 34, confronted a former employer about an ongoing monetary issue at a construction site on Versailles Drive in Tampa. During the confrontation, Greenlee brandished a handgun, pressed it to the victim’s forehead, threatened to murder him, and fired a cartridge that narrowly missed.
Greenlee then forced his way into the victim’s home, causing more than $1,000 in property damage and stealing a nail gun before fleeing.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office detectives immediately recognized Greenlee as the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Greenlee was apprehended and arrested in Pinellas County with the help of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Greenlee was charged with attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony with a weapon, armed burglary of a dwelling, and robbery with a firearm, according to HCSO.
“This was a reckless and violent outburst that could have ended in tragedy,” said Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Pointing a firearm at someone’s head and pulling the trigger over a financial dispute shows an alarming disregard for human life. There is no place for this kind of behavior in our community.”
According to local law enforcement, the inquiry is still ongoing.
