UPDATE: According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, John Travis Stanley has been arrested after leading police on a chase involving a stolen car in Elko County.
Stanley’s car was found and removed from the Water Canyon Campground in Winnemucca, which has recently reopened, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
Original: Humboldt County deputies are searching for a man who ran from Nevada State Police on Thursday morning.
Deputies say the wanted man, John Travis Stanley, is possibly armed and has multiple outstanding felony warrants in Texas.
Officers are currently looking for him and his two bull terrier dogs around the Water Canyon Campground. The BLM has temporarily shuttered the campground as a precaution.
Deputies claim they have found his car but not Stanley.
