Dallas Police Officer Taken Into Custody For Theft; Department Confirms

A Dallas police officer was taken into custody on a warrant for theft of property between $30,000 and $150,000, according to the department.

Senior Cpl. Le Chau surrendered to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday to face a DPD warrant for theft of goods valued between $30,000 and $150,000, a third-degree felony, according to officials.

Chau has been with the Dallas Police Department since 2013 and is assigned to the department’s Basic Academy, according to DPD.

According to DPD, Chau has been placed on administrative leave until the conclusion of an internal investigation.

No other information was immediately provided.
