Chicago Woman Charged In Kenwood Neighborhood Shooting

A Chicago woman has been charged in connection with a shooting that injured another woman after an argument in the city’s Kenwood neighborhood in May, according to police.

Sheba Houskin, 46, was apprehended Saturday in the 8200 block of Southeast End Avenue.

She was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery/firearm discharge and one felony count of aggravated unlawful restraint, according to police.

The allegations arise from an incident on May 23rd, around 9:08 p.m., in the 4700 block of South Lake Park Ave.

According to police, Houskin became involved in a physical altercation with two people, who struck her in the face. Houskin, who possesses a valid Firearm Owners Identification card, allegedly pulled out a gun and shot a 33-year-old woman twice under the left arm.

The victim was transferred to the University of Chicago Hospital in good condition.

Houskin has a detention hearing planned on Tuesday. Detectives from Area One are still investigating.
