The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) apprehended an armed man who was reportedly pointing a weapon at individuals in downtown Silver Spring on Friday evening, July 25.
According to 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos, officers spotted the suspect on public safety cameras in the 8100 block of Georgia Avenue at 7:30 p.m. and arrested him without incident on first-degree assault and handgun charges. A second person, the original subject officers were looking for, was also apprehended nearby.
