Police are searching for one suspect after a high-speed pursuit with a stolen vehicle resulted in a crash early Thursday morning east of downtown.
According to investigators, the incident began shortly before 3 a.m., when a Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Deputy was pursuing the driver of a stolen Kia. The chase ended when the car crashed at East 40th Street and Chester Avenue.
Authorities detained four individuals immediately, and apprehended a fifth suspect around 6:30 a.m. Police said five of the accused are adolescents, and one is an adult. Their names have not been disclosed.
Officers from numerous police departments are assisting in the search for the final suspect, who is still at large. Drones and K-9 units were dispatched, and Cleveland firefighters utilized a ladder truck to reach the roof of an adjacent structure during the search.
There were no injuries recorded. The investigation is underway.
