Claiborne County deputies said four individuals, including a juvenile, were apprehended in connection with an “organized theft operation.”

On July 14, officers said the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana reporting the theft of a 2022 Ford F-350 purchased with a bogus cashier’s check. When the vehicle’s owner realized the check was fraudulent, he activated the truck’s OnStar tracking device, which directed officers to a site on Barland Road in Claiborne County.

Deputies responded and found the stolen F-350. While examining the situation, deputies uncovered an extra stolen vehicle.

During a larger investigation, investigators said they discovered several ATVs and vehicles believed to be linked to a huge organized theft organization.

Marvin Ratliff, Jr., Jadariz McDaniel, Terrance Edwards, and an unidentified youngster were all detained and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and possessing stolen items. Deputies say there are active warrants for DeiAriton Warner of Hermanville and Trey Watts of Hinds County.

MDAC investigators are aiding in the case.
