39 People Arrested In Texas Panhandle Crime Operation

Authorities in the Texas Panhandle recently arrested nearly 40 people in a “coordinated suppression operation.” The Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the operation concentrated on violent offenders.

The operation yielded excellent results, with many dangerous individuals removed from the streets.

Crime Suppression Operation in the Texas Panhandle

According to the Amarillo Globe, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Hereford Police Department, and the Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office arrested scores of people during the operation in the Texas Panhandle.

The Department of Public Safety said that during the two-day operation, violent offenders and fugitives with outstanding warrants were captured. The report states that the Deaf Smith County Jail detained and placed 39 individuals on more than 40 separate counts.

“This operation reflects an ongoing commitment by local and state law enforcement to proactively identify and apprehend individuals involved in criminal activity in Texas,” DPS officials said. “By removing violent and repeat offenders from the community, DPS and law enforcement partners are making Deaf Smith Co. — and our entire state — safer for everyone.”

Outstanding Warrants for a Variety of Crimes

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, several of those apprehended had outstanding warrants for the following:

The warrants included threats against peace officers and judges, burglary, the manufacturing or delivery of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, sheltering a runaway child, assault, and other offenses.
