Three Grenada County residents were detained during the holiday weekend after a lengthy and thoroughย investigation into illegal drug activity.
Sheriff Garrett Hartley, investigators, and officers, with support from the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, executed a search warrant at Terry Braxton’s home at 20 Mountain Lane early on July 3. The residence contained moderate amounts of illegal drugs and narcotics, as well as firearms, one of which had been stolen.
Braxton was arrested during a traffic check just moments before the search warrant was executed at his home. Braxton was taken to the Grenada County Jail on accusations of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a weapon by a felon, two counts of trafficking controlled substances, and four counts of felony possession of controlled substances, with a bond set at $150,000.
Shortly after this occurrence, Jennifer Frazier Williams was arrested at a traffic check after a considerable amount of methamphetamine (ice) was discovered on her person. She was taken to the Grenada County Jail on charges of trafficking controlled substances, and a bond of $20,000 was imposed. Williams bonded out soon after the bond was made.
Later in the morning, deputies secured a search warrant for Jadarius “Tigger” Taylor’s Holcomb home in connection with ongoing investigations into illegal narcotics operations.
Taylor fled the property in a vehicle and then on foot as officers arrived to carry out the search warrant, but he was apprehended within a few hundred yards. The search warrant resulted in the discovery of substantial amounts of illegal drugs and narcotics in his home and vehicle, as well as multiple stolen firearms.
Taylor was taken to the Grenada County Jail, where a total bond of $250,000.00 was set on charges of aggravated trafficking of controlled substances, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, two counts of trafficking controlled substances, and three counts of possessing a stolen firearm.
All of the aforementioned individuals are assumed innocent until proven guilty in the appropriate court of law.
โThis was a large amount of very dangerous drugs, and stolen weapons, that will not be going to the streets to poison or harm our citizens. We appreciate all the support from the community in our efforts to pinpoint and arrest drug dealers in our county,โ Hartley said. โWe will continue to work on these issues within our county. We also greatly appreciate the work and efforts of our investigators, deputies and MBN that have spent many hours, days, weeks and months working on these cases.โ
