3 Men Apprehended For Carjacking At Md. Facebook Marketplace Sale Meet-up: Police Say

Three men were apprehended after attempting a carjacking during a Facebook Marketplace sale in Maryland, according to police.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, a Gaithersburg resident selling a BMW met with an interested buyer on July 22 at the seller’s home.

During the meeting, two teenagers withdemanded the BMW keys. The seller dropped the keys and fled, according to MCDP officials.

Julian Chase Rose, 18, of Beltsville, Maryland, and Prince Chukang, 19, of Silver Spring, Maryland, jumped into a car driven by an accomplice. Kendric Rock, 20, of Silver Spring, Maryland, utilized a stolen 2019 Infiniti Q50 to flee, according to MCDP officials.

According to MCDP officials, Rose, Chukang, and Rock were arrested at 8 p.m. on July 22 after wrecking the Infinity and attempting to flee.

During the arrests, police found firearms and ammo.

The three males are charged with attempted carjacking as well as firearm-related offenses. According to MCDP, they are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.

MCDP advises anyone selling and buying online to exercise caution. Police urge that designated safe zones be established at each of the county’s police stations.
