Two people were arrested following an alleged gun sale that turned into a robbery that resulted in a gunshot wound.
According to police records, Atavious Wilder, 18, and Coreon Veley-Carter, 21, were detained Saturday for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
According to TPD, police were dispatched to the 500 block of E. Central Ave., between Stickney and Lagrange, just before 3 p.m. on July 26 for a complaint of a shooting. According to police, a 24-year-old victim approached Wilder and Veley-Carter with the intention of selling them a pistol.
According to police affidavits, during the sale, Wilder and Veley-Carter pulled a gun on the victim and stole his gun. The 24-year-old victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound during the encounter. The identity of the shooter was unknown, according to police data.
On Monday, a judge placed both suspects’ bond at $250,000. They’re due back in court on August 5.
