2 Adults And Juvenile Taken Into Custody For Numerous Crimes In Central Florida

Two adults and a juvenile were arrested for various crimes in Central Florida earlier this summer.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office apprehended three masked Altamonte Springs residents as they drove across Polk County in a stolen vehicle.

A PCSO deputy was following a 2016 Mazda CX-5, reported stolen in Orange County, as it drove along I-4 near Lakeland. The deputy radioed for additional units, which arrived in the vicinity unseen by the accused.

As the Mazda was driving east, two deputies ahead of it strategically positioned their vehicles to induce a momentary traffic jam. As traffic came to a stop just east of CR 557, the other deputies boxed in the stolen Mazda and apprehended all three passengers without incident.

The three suspects were identified as Schuyler Barry-Austin (19), Vertrelle Walker, Jr. (21), and Deontrae Walker (16).

According to local law enforcement, the perpetrators were wearing masks and gloves when they were arrested. The driver, Schuyler, was also in possession of a firearm that had been reported stolen from Orange County.

Vertrelle was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of less than 20 grams, possession of burglary tools, contributing to a minor’s delinquency, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

Schuyler was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the initiation of a felony, Schuyler was charged with possession of a vehicle intended for drug sales, possession of cannabis with intent to sell, possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of burglary tools, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Deontrae was charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Burglary Tools.

According to PCSO, all charges were increased because the suspects were wearing masks, and all three had past criminal records.
