A teenage boy was charged after police said he took part in an armed carjacking on the city’s South Side Wednesday afternoon.
The 13-year-old was detained in the 4200 block of South Wabash Avenue and charged with two felony counts: aggravated vehicular hijacking with a handgun and aggravated unauthorized possession of a weapon/vehicle or loaded firearm.
According to Chicago police, the teen is one of the suspects who allegedly stole a vehicle at gunpoint from a 30-year-old man in the 2600 block of South Martin Luther King Drive.
According to authorities, the teen was arrested within minutes, and a handgun was seized.
