Pictured is a new cardiac monitoring device purchased by Tri-County EMS using nearly $32,000 in funds donated by the Port of Corpus Christi. The new cardiac equipment benefits medical personnel by translating vital information to the receiving hospital before the patient arrives.

Port of Corpus Christi donates funds to Tri-County EMS for Cardiac Monitoring Device

On August 16, the Port of Corpus Christi continued its support of first responders in the Coastal Bend by donating nearly $32,000 to the Tri-County EMS – which serves Nueces, San Patricio and Aransas counties – to purchase a cardiac monitoring device for one of the organization’s ambulances. The new machine will allow Tri-County EMS to utilize every ambulance in its fleet for emergency cardiac situations.

TRex on walkabout

Rumer Smith reported that their tortoise TRex got out this week near Kenney Lane. “His shell has more scratches on it than in photos because he has been forcing his way out the gate...i think it’s the mmmmmmhhhmmm season. He was in the field across from our place with horses a lady said. I was not able to find him after 2 hours of walking around field,” Smith said.
