Aransas Pass Progress
Since February the Rowland Family has owned what used to be known as SK8TELAND at 1920 W. Wheeler Ave. in Aransas Pass, taking over a remaining portion of the business from a former partner who needed out following a divorce. Pictured are (left to right) son Jacob, age 25, Michael, 47, the father, son Steven, 25 and daughter, Aubree, 25. Not pictured is their mother and Michael’s wife, Raquel, 51.

Aransas Pass Roller Rink a Family Affair

Before Walmart moved to its present location at the intersection of Wheeler Ave. and FM 1069, the popular retail chain occupied the 20,000 square feet now home to the Rock and Roll Entertainment Center, formerly SK8TELAND, next to Tractor Supply in Aransas Pass. An Ingleside native and business entrepreneur who’d already proven himself a success founding multiple companies serving the petro-chemical sector decided he wanted to do something for the community, recognizing a niche that needed to be filled, providing a safe and inviting venue for both youth and adults – buying up a former partner’s interest in the skating rink when she “needed out,” according to Michael Rowland and reopened the venue.

Members of the Ingleside Chamber of Commerce help cut the ribbon to the new, highly anticipated Dollar Tree store Tuesday, October 18th at 2491 Hwy. 361. Though inflation has forced Dollar Tree and other similarly marketed stores to raise many prices above $1, there should still be plenty of bargains inside.
