IOB Girl Scout Earns ‘Cookie Queen’ Title

Gretchen Canon is the Cookie Queen, her parents proudly shared on social media over the weekend. The Ingleside on the Bay teen sold 7,278 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year to earn the title. She won cookie service unit, service center, and Girl Scout Council, reported her mother, Tanya. So, what that means she was the highest seller in Ingleside, Aransas, Portland, and Rockport areas, the highest from the Corpus Christi service center and the highest in the entire council which covers from Victoria down to the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo. Her family wished to thank everyone that helped her to meet and exceed multiple goals during her cookie season. All the love and support from her family, friends, and community is such a blessing and keeps her motivated. They are sure to see you all next year as she tries to meet and exceed this year’s sales.

A recent sunset over Ingleside Cove May 11 at 7:44 p.m. as photographed by Ingleside on the Bay homeowner and Councilman Brenda Duncan, her house just steps from Cove Park in Ingleside. To the right is Kiewit Offshore Services, its giant construction yard always busy with activity erecting oil drilling platforms that will eventually be towed out to sea.
