A two-week statewide sex offender and human trafficking operation resulted in 72 arrests and the rescue of 29 human trafficking victims.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch confirmed that it was part of Operation Guardian Force.

“AG Fitch and the Trump Administration are partners to support efforts to end human trafficking and deliver comprehensive victim services,” according to a news release.

From July 14 to July 29, Operation Guardian Force collaborated with 400 federal, state, and local law enforcement personnel to successfully organize search warrants, arrests, and victim assistance.

The operation also included a sex offender compliance check to track down and identify sex offender register absconders.

The Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence, the Center for Violence Prevention, and the Transformation Garden provided services and treatment to those who were rescued during the operation.
