A man was taken into custody after a drug bust in Jefferson County on Wednesday.
Marcus Allen Harper, 41, has been charged with drug trafficking after nearly 33 pounds of cocaine were discovered at a Center Point residence, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office stated that the drugs have a street worth of $300,000.
According to the sheriff’s office, narcotics investigators completed a long-term investigation into a suspected narcotics trafficker by serving a search warrant in the 10 block of 12th Court NW.
A SWAT squad and SNET entered the home and captured Harper without incident. After inspecting the house, detectives discovered and seized narcotics, guns, and money.
Other drugs seized at the residence included 232 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $1,500, 2 grams of Adderall with a street value of $20.00, 6 grams of ecstasy with a street value of $60.00, 50 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $2,000.00, 488 grams of marijuana with a street value of $1,000.00, and 16 grams of synthetic marijuana with a street value of $50.00.
They had a total street value of $304,630.
The sheriff’s office reported that $336,753 in cash, an FN 5.7X28 semi-automatic handgun, a PSA G3-10.308 semi-automatic rifle, a Rev Arms AR-15 5.56 semi-automatic rifle, a Smith and Wesson SD40 semi-automatic handgun, digital scales, narcotic packaging material, assorted ammunition, cell phones, and a DVR box were seized.
Harper is being held in the county jail without bond.
