At least 17 individuals were shot, one fatally, during the weekend in Mayor Brandon Johnson’s (D) Chicago.
According to CBS News, the shooting victims ranged in age from six to fifty years.
The 6-year-old boy was shot at about 9:35 p.m. on Friday “while inside a vehicle in the 3700 block of West 59th Place.” A passing car fired shots at the vehicle in which the boy was riding, striking him “in the backside.”
The 6-year-old was taken to a hospital in good health.
The weekend’s lone deadly shooting took place at 4:44 a.m. Saturday “in the 11600 block of South Church Street.” The victim, a 28-year-old man, was shot many times before being transported to a hospital and dying there.
Breitbart News reported that at least 28 individuals, including six fatalities, sustained gunshot wounds in Mayor Johnson’s Chicago last weekend.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that 226 people have been slain in Chicago thus far in 2025.
