Ohio Man Sentenced To Nearly 4 Years In Prison For Meth Trafficking In Pennsylvania

An Ohio man has been sentenced to 46 months in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy that stretched from Ohio to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Charles Woods, 67, of Akron, received his sentence on Tuesday from United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand.

Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced the sentence, stressing Woods’ effective prosecution as a significant methamphetamine supplier in the drug trafficking operation.

According to information presented in court, detectives discovered Woods’ involvement in a network that transported methamphetamine between Akron, Ohio, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A search of Woods’ home revealed around 294 grams of methamphetamine. Woods admitted in court that he was part of a plan to distribute 500 grams to 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine over a five-month period.

Rebecca L. Silinski, Assistant United States Attorney, prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.

Acting US Attorney Rivetti praised the agencies that assisted in the investigation and successful prosecution of Woods, including Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Pennsylvania State Police.
