A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after a 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death after a fight inside a deli in the Bronx on Tuesday.

Officers responded at 3511 Boston Rd. in Williamsbridge shortly before 4 p.m.

Officers arrived to find the 16-year-old victim, Aliyah Williams, with several stab wounds to her head and body inside the property.

Police say the fight started inside the deli when the victim threw water at the suspect. The suspect then repeatedly attacked Williams outside of the deli before fleeing.

She was brought to Jacobi Hospital in severe condition and eventually confirmed dead.

A 19-year-old EMT-in-training who wishes to remain anonymous attempted to offer aid.

“She’s moving a lot, I tried to tell her to calm down, because if you keep moving around you’re going to lose a lot more blood than you expected,” he said.

Police are examining if Williams was summoned to the scene before the stabbing by someone with whom she may have had a long-standing feud.

Later Wednesday afternoon, police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect for murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a firearm.

Following the victim’s death, her loved ones spoke out.

“I never expected this to happen to her because she’s not a bad kid, you know?” said the victim’s grandmother Rose Anderson. “She’s a people person and she’s always in our hearts. Marisol, rest in peace.”

The owner of a baking supplies company that offers summer jobs to teenagers says he is outraged by the violence in the store next door. It’s listed as a deli, but he claims it’s known in the neighborhood as a smoke shop.

“And now I have six to eight kids with something so traumatic, and we’re failing our kids,” the owner said.
