Police Arrest Suspected Serial Burglar In Newberg

A man suspected by law enforcement of being responsible for at least three recent burglary or trespassing incidents in Yamhill County was detained in Newberg last week.

The Newberg-Dundee Police Department reported a burglary in progress at a home in the 800 block of Dayton Avenue at about 8:43 a.m. on July 9.

โ€œThe homeowner reported finding a male suspect exiting through the front door of his residence,โ€ the release said.

The suspect, 22-year-old Cano Francisco-Sebastian, attempted to evade police on a bicycle, according to the announcement. He didn’t get far before being nabbed for briefly resisting police.

A further inquiry revealed that Francisco-Sebastian was involved in three burglary and trespassing occurrences throughout the county.

โ€œ(Francisco-Sebastian) is believed to have committed other property crimes that have not yet been reported to law enforcement,โ€ the release said.
