A Silver Alert for an 81-year-old Pima County man who went missing in late June was canceled on Sunday after his remains were discovered.
On Sunday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and US Border Patrol BORSTAR agents discovered remains suspected to be James Gutekunst’s.
Authorities have stated that they do not suspect foul play.
Between June 22 and June 28, authorities last spotted Gutekunst on foot off Interstate 19 south of Tucson. The alert was issued in Maricopa County on Friday.
