On a recent evening in the 6200 block of Topaz Pines Trail, a routine traffic stop escalated into the arrest of a wanted felon. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Office identified the driver as Donald King Jr., who had an active parole warrant for previous firearms convictions. The altercation took an abrupt turn when King attempted to flee on foot, causing deputies to use a taser to arrest him.

With King immobilized, the arresting officers unearthedย more than they hoped for. Illicit drugs, specifically 0.3 grams of cocaine and 18.8 grams of ecstasy, were discovered on his person, along with a weapon. King was wanted for felony possession of a weapon, and now he faced additional accusations, including possession of a controlled substance.

Mark Herman, the constable, released a full summary of the arrest. “Donald Ray King Jr. was arrested and put into the Harris County Jail on charges of open parole warrant, possession of a controlled substance, and felony possession of a weapon. His total bond for the new charges was imposed at $60,000.00 by the 482nd District Court,” according to the announcement posted on their official Facebook page.

Herman’s office recommends the new mobile app “C4 NOW” for staying up to date on local crime, arrests, and traffic events. The program promises live feeds specific to one’s neighborhood, possibly to notify people of occurrences like the one involving King. Details and updates on his case will most likely come through these routes.
