Officials say a 34-year-old man detained in Washington for child exploitation could have more victims in Orange County.
According to the Washington State Patrol, Andre Smolyar was arrested in June and charged with promoting a suicide attempt, possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, viewing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
“During the course of the investigation, digital and physical evidence was obtained indicating that Smolyar may have committed additional forcible sexual assaults against minors,” officials said.
It was also revealed that Smolyar “operated under multiple online identities, which he may have used to communicate with minors.”
Officials think there are further victims in Orange County and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
