Eight individuals were shot early in the morning on North Mart Plaza.
According to Capitol Police, the incident happened shortly after midnight.
Officers arrived on the site and discovered eight people, ranging in age from 21 to 40, had been shot, one of whom remains in severe condition.
The actual location of the shooting was not specified. North Mart Plaza is situated directly north of Meadowbrook Road, off North State Street.
There have been no arrests in this instance, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
